Psychology plays an important role in many health care professional careers. Nursing is one of the more evident cases to which psychology plays a role. In order for a nurse to provide true holistic care, they must be able to assess both physical and mental health needs. Many people in the world develop at least one type of common mental health disorder in their life. Nurses need to be able to recognize theses issues in their patients. The first article was written by Elizabeth Barley and Victoria Lawson. The article explores the reasons why people maybe unaware of their disorder and what some of the symptoms are to a disorder. The second article I read was written by Aman Sharma. The article recognizes the idea that mental disorders do not discriminate on any level and nurses need to understand that the actions put forth by the patient maybe a side effect.
