Let’s not forget the importance of making young adults more interested in the political life, since they are the future of the country. “The kids of today’s world are the leaders of the future” (Nasr, 2017). Our world will be ruled by people who were once kids, so it is better to start educating them politically since they are young, and nothing can be a better teaching way than elections. “It would encourage them to investigate further into how it all works” (Ross, 2013). Therefore, in order to increase the political awareness of the new generations, they must be educated at schools, in their houses, by electoral campaigns… on how elections are made, who to choose, how to judge each candidate and weather to choose him again in the next elections or not. Additionally, as mentioned before, the winning candidates will be representing the whole population for the next few years. So since these young adults will be characterized by the candidates, why can’t they choose who they want to be represented by? Research shows that voting is habitual. “A person who votes in the first election they are eligible for is likely to continue voting consistently, while someone who doesn’t will take several years to pick up the habit” (Top Ten Reasons to Lower the Voting Age, 2011). So voting at a low age won’t only educate young adults politically, it will always give them the habit of voting. And if they don’t get this habit, it will cause major problems to the society in few year since a country with no elections, or with a low voting turnout won’t have stable political situation because the winning candidates will not be representing the majority of the citizens. The candidate will be then representing a specified segment of the society and not the whole country as he must
