The Importance Of The Second Amendment In The United States

The Second Amendment in the U.S. Constitution states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed .” But where does this right end? The Second Amendment says that people are able to keep a weapon if needed, but some use this right very unfairly. As people experience this on a daily basis, it provides a hazard to where people live and obstacles as to how to survive. More than 100,000 people get shot in the U.S. each year . In 2010, there were 30,923 deaths by gunshot. Making it one of the leading causes of death in America. This includes 19,308 reported suicides, 11,015 reported homicides, and 600 reported accidents. Being that the United States is ranked number one for firearms ownership in the world, the United States manufactures enough firearms that it is possible for every person in the United States to own a firearm weapon. When individuals compare the homicide rate to other countries, some may find out that the United States has one of the highest homicide rates in the world. Finland, who is ranked fourth for firearms ownership in the world, has a percentage of 19.8% homicides using firearms. While the United States has a percentage of 60% homicides using firearms. Sadly, but through tragical events that had many suffer.
