They always wanted to draw attention to themselves, whether it be in a good or bad way. I never thought that they were really reaching out for someone to care about them, to communicate and guide them. I just thought they were being obnoxious and ride. A part of me wishes I could have reached out, if only I had known how important it is to have someone to talk to. This PowerPoint really shows just how important it is.
The third, most important, topic that was discussed and I personally found most interesting, was toxic stress. It’s about the stress someone is under when they go through bad experiences in early childhood and how it effects their mind and behavior in the future. When I was bullied at such a young age, I didn’t know it would make me such a introvert that I have become today. I didn’t know the stress that experience put me under would effect my behavior so much. Every time I enter a public place, I will instantly think of the best way to avoid the most people. I will walk down another isle in a grocery person to avoid a person, whom I don’t even know, just so I don’t have to saw hello to them, or have them look at me. I wonder how they live their day to day lives, and what precautions they take in order to avoid certain situations. I felt sad when thinking about this, because I can just imagine what they go through, and what their life is like. Toxic stress is real, an edit affects everyone, depending on the experiences they have, and I believe it’s one of the key points to how a child develops and shapes who he or she is. This PowerPoint was one of the most interesting I have viewed. It’s very relatable, and is a definite eye opener to anyone who views it. It really made me think back on my past experiences and realize how I became the person I am today, and why I make the choices that I do every day. I really enjoyed learning about brain architecture, serve and return, and toxic stress.
