There are many literal terms for family, and many people with different opinions. There are many things that create a family, whether it is related by blood or relationships. The broad definition being who someone lives with in a home. So who is a teenage girl’s family who’s been adopted or in foster care? Family is the relationship with a parent, sibling or friend. However, who are a teenage girl’s parents? How about their siblings? Who are their friends? Though when finding out who their family is friends are not as important, they still play a key role in the adopted teenage girl’s life who is in foster care or is adopted. But if they can compare their friends to my definition, and honestly say they are still their friend I’m very happy for them! Real friends are hard to come by. There are two kinds of friends, fake friends pretending to be real (The majority) and the real friends (The minority). Fake friends have no problems constantly calling them names (Playfully or not); they have no problem going behind their back to spread rumors. Though they do sometimes tell them the truth, they do it for their own benefit. They have no problem using them as a stepping stone, or if they are a giving person taking what they freely give and ask for more. Though some can hide these traits very well, they will find that if they look at their relationship with their friend with new eyes, not “He/she is my best friend, yay!” eyes, they can figure out who their friends really are. Real friends are different, like their sister or brother, both they and the others will willingly lay them-self down for one another, they will want to protect each other, and they will have a relationship where as much as they put into the relationship they get out as well. Looking for who their mother, father, sister, brother or even friends are is difficult. But fathers strive to protect, like an older brother would his little sister. A mother nurtures them and a sister is the best friend they will ever find, someone who is reliable. Their family doesn’t have to be related by blood to be their real family, blood is only genetics, however the relationship between people is stronger because of love but and quite often enough girls don’t realize who their real family is, when they already technically have one. But if their blood related mother isn’t really a mother, or their blood related father isn’t really a father, or their blood related siblings not really their siblings, I’m positive how I see family will help them find out who they are. Blood isn’t everything; in fact it can even mean nothing.
