These are usually distinguished into extra-organisational stress, which would refer to stress from personal life, or could stem from work life, which would then fall under the umbrella of organisational stress. Personalities of individuals can be differentiated into Type A and Type B personalities, and while everyone is bound to experience stress at some point in their life or another, individuals with a Type A personality are usually more prone to suffering from stress. A person with a Type A personality tends to carry out everyday tasks quite rapidly and constantly feel under time pressure. They can often be impatient and competitive, and tend to multitask quite frequently and find it difficult to cope with leisure. Contrastingly, a person with a Type B personality is often calm and never in a hurry, usually not punctual and has no deadline for tasks, and can relax without feeling any guilt. A person in a team or organisation may have to perform many roles which conflict with each other, or be required to perform many roles beyond their abilities due to understaffing or absences. This was evident during our event; there was a particular situation just before the lunch rush when we realised that we would require more stock in order to be able to continue producing milkshakes. Having been more popular in the morning than anticipated, our inventory was running low, therefore Usama took it upon himself to purchase additional stock. However, as it took longer than expected, he had still not returned when the lunch rush started, leaving Alex and I very understaffed. Alex, who can be seen to portray a Type B personality, remained calm and relaxed, and continued to produce milkshakes at his own pace. I however, was more stressed to produce as many batches of milkshake at any one time, as well as serving customers and collecting payments, thus portraying a Type A personality. This inevitably resulted in an incident, in which I spilt milkshake all over myself.
