One of the minor threats to the red blood cell is cancer. Cancer can infect everywhere but the most fatal place that can be infected for the red blood cell is the lungs. Since the red blood cell brings oxygen from the lungs and through the veins, it is hard to do when there is an enormous disease in there waiting for them. A disease that is caused by the red blood cell is the aplastic anemia. The anemia is a process when the red blood cell does not produce enough oxygen. The symptoms of this disease are the following; bleeding, bruising, fast heart rate, frequent infections, nosebleed, pallor, and or shortness of breath. The red blood cell is a pigment of usual bright red depending on the amount of hemoglobin in it. The cell can differ from a scarlet to a burgundy. The color of the red blood cell is an advantage for the rest of the human body, and for the cell itself. Its color makes other cells capable of distinguishing it from any other bacteria. Lets just say if the red blood cell wasn’t the way it was, white blood cells might take it as an infectious disease that needs to be banished for the body. The circular flat disk shape of the red blood cell makes it able to do the specific functions that it does do. The cell is flat and circular with a little crater in the circle that makes it look as if it were a donut. Since the cell is flat, it is able to fit through our veins very simply, it is capable of going to and from the veins to bring oxygen. Red blood cells are throughout the human body, and we may not even know where they are. We know one thing for sure, none of the red blood cell are the same. There are many red blood cells, but they all die fast. Red blood cells live up to, on average, 130 days. After the red blood cell dies, it is dissolved into the rest of the body. The red blood cell is very important to our body and it is good to know more about
