Another thing that a student should do is to be committed to the responsibility and requirements that come with being a student in a DPT program. A student in a DPT program should also learn to do is to reach out to the public to try and make relations and trust the best that it possibly can be. This can mean volunteering and being an active member of the community to help better everyone.These are things that are not only something that you should practice and do while you are a student in a DPT program but they are also things that you will use later as you become a professional in a practice as you are trying to help patients recover. You want to provide patients with the best possible care and help in every way you can and to do this you have to be prepared and continue to learn even after you become a DPT. You also should make it a priority to be involved in the community you are in so that people see that you care about their lives and want to help make the community better. You should put the patients needs above your own needs in any way you can. This can mean coming in early for patients that work during hours that the clinic is open or staying late to see a patient that otherwise couldn't make it to receive the help that they need. This also means spending time outside of work to come up with better ways to help patients or redesigning programs so that they are easier for the patient to do at home. You should take a personal interest in every patient and really try to get to know them and want to help them. These are all things that a student in a DPT program should practice so that they understand and can later apply them in the in same way to doing everything that they can to help patients and the community that they
