Sterilization Of Lab Report

Procedures in clinical laboratories involve working with biological samples that may contain viruses such as HIV and/or Hepatitis B and other medically important bacteria. Therefore, it is important that the laboratory workers protect themselves by using the correct personnel protective equipment (PPE) and by so doing protect the members of the public. In the microbiology laboratory, sterile techniques must always be used to prevent cross contamination of specimens but also to prevent introducing micro-organisms in otherwise sterile specimens. This can be achieved by employing appropriate techniques of sterilisation or disinfection.
