Mc Manus and al argue that feedback in an important mediator of changes in physical activity. They evaluate the change in physical activity by using a heart-rate monitor from which they self-referent or iterative feedback. This article seek to examine if the physical activity increased by using a heart-rate monitor and the different with and without a combination of an education component on children. The authors in order to get answer for their questions used 3 primary schools and assigned 1 of the three treatment arm, which were control or with education component or without the educational component. They were able to identify that having the heart-rate monitor, increased the physical activity level. They is no significant long term benefit, because after removing the heart-rate monitor they were no longer any significant change in physical activity. This article is relevant to my research because it indicate how children might be motivate to increase their physical activity level, because having the heart-rate monitor increase the children physical activity level. This information will help with developing a policy proposal. This article indicated that the long and short term effect might be different so they have to be taken into consideration, because I want to create a policy proposal that has a long term effect.
