Playing a sport gives athletes common ground with the rest of the team, creating friendships during practices. Support from friends on the team are what truly makes it enjoyable; however, sports do require some coordination. The majority of Belle Plaine High School’s sports requires hand eye coordination, which is why most people do not play; therefore, hand-eye coordination is an important factor in life. It is used more often than people think. According to Beth Rifkin, who has written health and fitness articles for ten years, everyone uses hand-eye coordination to put on makeup, brush hair, pour a glass of water, write, or fold clothes; henceforth, the lack of coordination is not an excuse if all of these things are done on a daily basis (para 3). People who do not play sports say they are afraid of embarrassing themselves by tripping or missing the ball, but these are common mistakes made by every athlete. It is just like spilling a glass of water when trying to pick it up. Exercising improves coordination skills (Refkin para 3).
