There’s a perfect illustration that shows how they treat soldiers of the America. A sergeant asked a flight attendance to keep his uniform in the closet, because he was afraid of the uniform getting wrinkled. However, she refused to keep it in the closet, because it was a service only provided to 1st class passengers. Then passengers in the airplane got angry, blamed the flight attendance for it. A passenger from 1st class even offered his seat to the soldier. After this happening, even the Airline apologized for their wrong behavior. When it comes to patriotism however, some might say that current generation is not as patriotic as they used to be in the past. It may seem like that but it is actually not true. It is just that current millennials emphasize more on rights of individual or value of equality than patriotism compared to older generations, and this doesn’t mean they are not patriotic . For being patriotic can be often against values of freedom and equality, it seems like younger generations prefer freedom and equality to patriotism. Still the United States, being the superpower in military forces, seems to sustain its for a while, at least for 100 years. Once they regulated the immigration by law but it had been changed decades ago. Also there are efforts to embrace those undocumented people who live in America. ‘Dream Act’, although it had not been legalized yet, there are still bunch of people trying to legalize it . It is an good example that shows that much of Americans are even willing to embrace the people who came to or were born in America illegally. America is being even more diverse right at this moment and they will keep trying to embrace the
