I believe everyone has an ability to create a positive change in community. As Kofi Annan, the former secretary general of United Nations said, “Young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation”, strengthen my desire that I am an agent of change to make this world a better place. The little change I always want to install is creating sustainability and better livelihood as a solution because humanity is placing inordinate demands on nature and our environment condition is getting worse. My biggest dream as a world-class landscape architect will address those issues both in my home country and global scale through my main duty to preserve and conserve environment by configuring and designing open spaces.

Speaking about landscape architecture, it can’t be separated from its establishment in the United States. It is no doubt the United States has a leading quality of academic in Landscape Architecture. Experiencing educational system from the Nation where Frederick Law Olmsted created central park will not only remarkably broaden my horizon on American approach on Landscape architecture, but also it will help me to become a more innovative and creative, yet to think outside the box. Serving the community outside my home country will bring me a total different experience than previous community service I’ve been done in my home country. In the end, I believe I will develop my sense of serving the community as both global citizens and future leader.

Most Important thing I want to gain is self-development and opportunity to explore myself. Experiencing a brand-new-country with new outlooks will be overwhelming at the beginning. But, I am expecting what I will gain is enhancing my ability to adapt to diverse situations while being able to problem solve. I believe the brand new environment will make me more independent.

In conclusion, inasmuch as expertise and academically attribute I will gain by participating Global Undergraduate Exchange Program, soft skills I will gain such as shaping personal skills and self development will become my assets for my future career and build Indonesia. For me, as a future world-class landscape architect and change agent, its obvious by studying in the United States will shape me into a global citizens and future
