However it should now be clear that living in a bubble of ignorance will do more harm than good, to the individual personally and humanity as a whole. It has been discussed earlier that being knowledgeable has it’s perks, as the knowledgeable individual has the potential to improve themselves, their surroundings and therefore society itself; whereas ignorance will lead humanity down a bottomless spiral, which only gets more difficult to get out of the deeper you go. It is the nature of a philosophical question to always be open to debate and interpretation, and however unfortunate it may be it is never truly possible to reach a concrete answer. One can only be provided a different perspective and perhaps a convincing argument. As J.S Mill says “It is better to be an unsatisfied human being than a satisfied pig; better to be Socrates unsatisfied than a fool satisfied. And if the fool or the pig is of a different opinion, it is because they only know their own side of the question. The other, to make the comparison, understands both sides.”
