Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial buildings are responsible for consuming more than 40 percent of the total energy usage. Keeping it running properly and at peak efficiency is one of the important steps in energy management. A good system maintenance is more than just controlling energy usage. Besides people comfort, today's buildings depend on HVAC systems for other important reasons too. For example, most telecommunication systems need specific environmental conditions to operate properly. Thermal and humidity conditions that fall outside this range can lead to interruption in functioning and may lead to system failure.
