In class, we were given information about what each shape represented as personalities. One shapes that was discussed was a square who gathered information and analyze problems. They see life as black and white, and they would go by the book in situations. Some people who see a square cold with other people. Next was triangle that is more on leadership and could be seen as egotistical from another view point. Circle is more nurturing with the ability to have empathy. A rectangle are a group of persons who are looking for changes to better their life and mentally. They are questioning everything around them. And the last type of personality is zigzag is more laid back personality and someone who is more creativity inquired. They are the ones who think of interesting ideas and different way to think of a situation. With these five personalities, we had to pick from them and gather together.
I picked rectangle group because I felt like I am always questioning everything and trying to better myself. In all honestly, I felt like I was a mix of most of these personalities. At first, when we were divided up there was some resistance of different personalities. Some of the people in the group with shy away with their tails up as a cat would when it is frightened of a situation. As we started to open communications, the shields of each person was placed down to complete the tasks in front of us. The group tasks that were assigned to student groups should be considered to have motivated interdependence and collaboration (Curseu, Janssen, & Raab, 2012). Found that getting together with different personality on assignment, was able to focus on the outcome of the project.
Communication took place when one person takes hold and open the line between each person to find out if this is what is the appropriate way to apply to the task that was presented to the class at the beginning of class. As a group found that assigning numbers to each person in the group to do the assignment was trying to be fair to each person.
