The Importance Of Fantasy Football

In 2014, 3.6 billion dollars of economic productivity came from fantasy football (Somers, 2014) shocking isn’t it? Good morning class, I am Mitch and today I will be talking to you about fantasy football; more importantly how to win in your fantasy football league. I have been playing fantasy football for years now and have formulated my own strategies. I have broken down these strategies into three simple steps.
Step one; Pre-draft scouting. You can never do enough research when it comes to fantasy football. You should first look up “fantasy football draft rankings.” Don’t just look at one site, all sites have different rankings. Throughout the season you might find that your team is weak at a certain position and strong at another one. The first thing you should do is look at the players that are free agents; those are players that aren’t a part of any teams. By doing this you can find players that aren’t usually that good but are having a strong year and could ultimately help out your team. If there are no good free agents available, this is when you take action by trading players from your strong positions to acquire players for your weaker positions. Finally, you should manage your lineup every week. It is important that some weeks you use some of your bench players if they have good matchups, this means players that you usually don’t start are playing a weaker team that week. This resulting in them having a higher chance of scoring a high amount of fantasy points that week. It is crucial you keep up with team management throughout the year if you want to win your fantasy league.
So if you plan on winning in your fantasy football leagues this year, you should follow my steps and strategies. Let’s recall, step one pre-draft scouting, step two the draft and step 3 team management. Good luck this season and thanks for

At last month's NFL draft, very few people were concerned about Super Bowl betting odds and who will win the Superbowl. Instead, the focus was put on figuring out which future NFL players would become an essential part of determining who will win the Superbowl this year and in years to come. As the movie "Draft Day" showed football fans, there's a lot of insanity going on behind the scenes when the actual draft day arrives. I live in a world of crazy numbers and fancy acronyms, the world of sabermetrics. Originally defined by Bill James in 1980, sabermetrics is "the search for objective knowledge about baseball", yet the term has grown into much, much more. Sabermetrics give ordinary people like me, the tools to predict the future, to forecast the worth of a human being with a couple of intricate formulas and a pinch of extrapolation. It appeared to be magic when I first learned about the masses of statistics associated with baseball. I was seven years old when my father started introducing me to his boxes upon boxes of old baseball cards.…

The NFL: Consistently Inconsistent Over the years, the NFL has been subject to widespread controversies. The MLB dominates other sports in average salary for the top 100 earners with 16.4 million dollars. Although the MLB has the highest average salary for the top 100 earners in the sport, they are being undervalued. “On average, teams are undervaluing players by 357,836.64” (Pearce). Since athletes in baseball seem to make the most on average, franchises can get away with not paying an athlete what they are actually worth.…

Tens of millions of Americans watch each week and even more view clips or articles on the internet. Fantasy football is itself a multi-billion industry with television programs, articles and podcasts reaching a widely dispersed audience every day. I say this to highlight the fact the football is more than football, it is what Marx described as a force for “cultural production.”…
