Is Evolution A Theory Or A Fact?

Understanding evolution is important because not only does evolution help humans to advance their knowledge in medicine and modify characteristics in plants, it also helps us to uncover the answer to the deepest question known to man, “Where do we come from?” The more evolution is studied and dissected, the more of benefit it is to us and our growing knowledge of earth and it’s history. Just like evolution itself, uncovering the many answers evolution supplies us with takes a lot of hard work and time. However, evolution is a topic that causes dispute among us in deciding whether or not evolution is a theory or a fact. Evolutionary modification is considered both a scientific theory and a fact. The reason why evolution is considered a theory is because there is a lot of unanswered questions and untested predictions. Biological evolution happens over thousands of generations after generations. In order for a generation to transpire, sexual reproduction is the key. Natural selection is basically the survival and reproduction of the organism that is most likely to thrive. Sexual reproduction takes the DNA from both the male and the female and passes it down to the offspring. In this passing of DNA, mutations are normally expected. These mutations can be positive or negative to the survival of the organism. Sometimes the mutations do not affect the organism positively or harmfully at all.
