For this essay I decide to write on one of the most important moments of my life, my Mom’s death. At first, however, I was dead set on avoiding the final topic, particularly because of the sensitive nature of it, and instead opted for the typical “what I did last summer” piece. However, one night as I sat down in my living room, staring into 4 page paper, a thought hit me. A thought that would change the entire outcome of my writing experience. The thought of being brave. For this essay, I chose something that has always been of interest to me, the causes of stuttering. For me, stuttering was always something slightly mysterious. For example, when I’m alone I am completely stutter-free, but once another person enters into the picture that fluency seems to go away fast. One thing that shocked me the most about this paper was the results. Not only did I find that the cause of stuttering is still largely unknown, but I also found that one possible explanation has to do with brain development during premature birth. Previously I never really gave it much thought that perhaps my premature birth had some outcome on my stuttering, but it turns out it does. Besides the shocking results, another aspect that made this paper difficult was my good friend Mr. Procrastination. Up until that point, I thought that my procrastination had been dealt with after the very stressful time turning in essay 2. However, that turned out to not be the case. Although I thought I was fairly well prepared for the essay (and even began working on it a week beforehand), I eventually found myself in an unfortunately familiar situation. There I was at two in the morning finishing what would be essay 3. Luckily for me, however, by Monday morning I had the essay all ready to go, and was able to turn it in on time.
