The Importance Of Contribution To The US Navy

More specifically, I hope to contribute to the Navy by commissioning to the Surface Warfare community, as it has the largest and most diverse range of jobs available, especially in terms of future career options. The sea itself is an enormous expanse that calls for both exploration and vigilance, and the ships and vessels of the U.S. Navy appeal to me in how studiously they execute these actions. These large fleets are symbols of strength and unity for me, something which America exemplifies by having the largest and most powerful Navy in the world, with the largest and extremely diverse number of ships. In addition, there are many other opportunities for me with Surface Warfare, should I be interested, whether through programs that allow me

With the right aptitude score and education, the Navy does have a lot of aviation, so a pilot or navigator is possible. Like the other branches the Navy has support functions such as air traffic control, medic, and radar technician and lots more. The Navy calls them themselves “seamen” which is actually a rank, but in general they call themselves a seaman which sounds exactly the same as semen. This leads to immature joking and inappropriate jokes are made. Homosexuality is identified most with the Navy due to close quarters on ships and their flashy uniforms.…

Lately I have been using CFNC.org to look at some career choices. It helps me by analyzing my skill sets and finding job frames that will fit my characteristics. The way it does this is by making you take a career cluster survey. The career cluster survey asks you many questions. It asks about your personality, what you care about, your political stance, and things of that nature.…

I have a strong desire to become an officer in the United States Navy. To achieve this goal I wish to be accepted into Officer Candidate School where I will later graduate with a commission as an Ensign. I believe myself to be of both strong mind and body, and I accredit this to my commitment to my school, my work, and my training. I graduated top ten percent of my class in High School and Magna Cum Laude in college and I continually try to increase the diversity of my knowledge so to become a better rounded person. I majored in Criminology and Criminal Justice and minored in Psychology, so through convention teaching methods I have gained a firm grip in the Social Sciences; however, its through my work experience that I have really grown.…

Over the many years since the United States Navy was founded it has gone over many different transformations. From its initial vision of guerre de course, privateering, and border protection to its seasoned vision of imperial expansion and global occupation through and in the world’s oceans. Throughout its transformation the Department of the Navy has interacted with Congress to debate its role and provide a suitable mission. In the beginning days of the newly freed and independent America, and even before its independence during the revolution, Congress did not want a large militarized navy, only a navy capable of trade to bolster its economy and protect its borders. When foreign entities began attacking American ships, Congress then approved…

My interest in the Naval Academy and the fleet began as just another college option. I have not had any family member serve in the Navy and was rather indifferent to military service, other than my admiration for the men and women who serve. As I continued to explore my options, the Naval Academy remained on the backburner until I visited for the summer STEM program two years ago. As soon as I first walked on post, I instantly knew I loved it--the beautiful old architecture, the shimmering blue water, and the white-clad Midshipmen marching crisply down Stribbling. This past summer, when I visited again for NASS, I decided the Naval Academy was the one for me.…

Before the summer of my sophomore year, I had not thought about my post high school plans beyond knowing I would like to attend college. However, I attended a STEM camp at Valparaiso University in Indiana where I met former astronaut and Naval Academy graduate, Ken Ham. He inspired me to not only begin my own flight training, but to start investigating the Naval Academy. The more I learned about the Naval Academy and the different opportunities that serving as an officer in the military presented, the more determined I became to attend. I understand that the decision to attend a service academy is not to be taken lightly.…
