The Importance Of Communication In Romantic Relationships

It all started in May of 2017 at my current job, UPS. As I was coming down the steps to get to my bay, I saw a new hire who started that day with a trainer. Although I only saw his back side, I noticed this man had a tattoo on his neck of Roman numerals. I liked the tattoo, but I was never the type of person to greet somebody on their first day. As I walked passed, I said hi to the trainer because he trained me when I first started. Luckily, he introduced me to my current boyfriend, Dameon. After that, we were together everyday in a truck sorting packages and having the greatest conversations I have ever had. 3 months later, Dameon and I officially became boyfriend and girlfriend and I couldn’t be happier. First, I searched two articles online which discussed how to improve communication in romantic relationships. The first article is titled “5 Communication Tips for Romantic Relationships.” The second article is titled “The Ground Rules for Effective Communication in Romantic Relationships.” Collectively, both articles provide dos and don’ts, examples, and tips. Some repetitive tips were to always listen and to say “I love you” a lot. We already say “I love you” to each other,but we do not want to say it to the point where it is …show more content…
On these dates, we sat down in a break room and discussed our progress with our communication. Our discussion on the 10th was very successful. Because I felt as though he was losing feelings for me, he wanted to remind that it was not the case at all. Luckily, he explained to me that he will try to open up more with me so that I am aware of his feelings. The check on the 17th was just as good as the first one. At this time, we talked about our listening skills. Dameon always claimed that I never remembered anything he said but he would remember what I said. Honestly, I am listening, I just forget easily.
