Collaborative curriculum planning was effective once we figured out the best possible way to contribute our ideas and works without the troubles of constant emails and catch ups, our saving grace was incorporating ICT and welcoming Google docs into our group.

Working in a group with peers increases the development of critical thinking through discussion, clarification of ideas, and evaluation of others ' ideas (Gokhale, 1995). I agree that working as a collaborative group creates an effective learning team, as your need to understand material, create ideas, and find resources becomes a shared responsibility which in the end results reduces a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. You are able to analyze, explore, explain, summarize and evaluate ideas as a collaborative team. With many different approaches and interpretations of the one task this creates an end result that caters for different learners because of the input of different learning styles. I find this enthusiasm when teaching a topic of interest can get you lost in the excitement, which just needs some improvement on still. I am interested in science I feel I am able to approach it confidently and encourage engagement from others by making it open for all to have a chance for input. Creating a learning environment which allows for effective dialogue as stated in Skamp (2015) is having ‘talk-rules’ providing all students with adequate wait times to think before responding, as well as creating a respectful environment where students respect each other’s opinions and times of
