Class Division In Society Essay

In our society, there are issues that affect the lives of many spending on their gender, race, class or ability. These issues consist of limitations, segregation, appropriation and other forms of discrimination as well. All these issue have a history that that are bred from and now are working to be resolved. A main issue in society is the division of class within communities. This leads to individuals being divided into select social classes based on their economic standing within the society itself. Due to this division, there are individuals whom are neglected, and others who are praised and followed. However, over the years, select people realized that the class division is in fact an issue and needs to be resolved. All the problems that are present regarding class arise from the initial division of individuals that occurs. First off, when dictating who ‘belongs’ in what category, income and ones social standing is considered, this leads to discrimination and segregation based on wealth or lack thereof, and this is a large problem in itself. Not only does segregation people based on income affect the individuals who are seen as the ‘lower class’ negatively, but it also creates the image that there are inferior and superior members of society, which creates a mindset for those who are ‘superior’ that they are in fact superior and it gives them a sense of power and control.
