She has become so immersed in her lies that she does not even notice nor even care that she does it anymore. A lie that occurred was when Torvald asked about her eating any macaroons. He said “Hasn’t Miss Sweet Tooth been breaking rules in town today?” (Ibsen 4) She kept denying it quickly, but she really did have some macaroons. This is a big deal because Nora and Torvald made it banned in the house at the beginning of the play. Another lie that happened was when Torvald wanted to know if anyone had stopped by the house while he was out in town doing bank business. He said “Has anyone been here?” and then Nora responded “Here? No” (Ibsen 25) She then confesses when Torvald says “That is strange. I saw Krogstad going out of the gate” and then acting like she forgot, Nora said “Did you? Oh yes, I forgot, Krogstad was here for a moment.” (Ibsen 25) She lied to Torvald because she did not want him to know about Krogstad’s visit. Nora is never really with the children at all. They are always with the Nurse and she is out and about making herself look good. The only time you hear her talking about her kids is when she brags about them to other people. One example of her substandard parenting skills is when Krogstad just left from there little talk. The children just came home from being out all day with the Nurse and want to be with their mother Nora. The children asked “will you come play again?” and Nora responded with “No, no—not now” then the children said “But, Mother, you promised us.” (Ibsen 24) She then brought them all in the room and locked the door on them. Nora just did not know how to handle the kids at all. After a while the Nurse came and said “The little ones are begging so hard to be allowed to come in to momma.” but Nora did still not want to see them by responding “No, no, no! Don 't let them come in to me! You stay with them” (Ibsen 28) This is awful parenting and no matter what, you should always want to see your kids. Nora should have had children if she was going to act like this. As you can see, Nora is a negligent person and is very easy to dislike through out this play. Nora has no reverence towards anything in this play and it clearly shows
