Art itself can be anything the artist wants, no matter how dreadful, and it does not really affect us.
In recent times, but not only, there has been a lot of discussion about what is the ultimate purpose of architecture. One of these definitions is indeed that Architecture is Art. In fact, architects such as Philip Johnson, a Modernist Architect, states that “Architecture is art, nothing else” whilst Richard Meier, a renowned Pritzker winner, declares that Architecture is in fact “the greatest of the arts”.
