First, the amount of ambient PM2.5 is 32 micrograms per cubic meter according to the Little Green Data Book 2015. As an average for all the tested countries and data points in those countries, that is over three times the amount of PM2.5 that the WHO has set guidelines for. Also, in 1990, according to the LGB 2015, the amount of micrograms of PM2.5 per meter of air was 29. Clearly, this has been unacceptable according to WHO guidelines, and has been going on for quite some time. In 1970, when the stronger Clean Air Act was passed, it hasn't done much to continue to keep pollution levels down. Even more shocking, the current amount of the population exceeding the WHO guideline for amounts of PM2.5 is a whooping 84%, according to the LGB 2015. That means that almost 6132000000 people are in danger according to the WHO. But, many individual countries have air pollution that is much, much …show more content…
According to the LGB 2015, the East Asia and Pacific population of the world is exceeding the WHO guidelines for ambient PM2.5 by 92%. Europe and Central Asia is exceeding the limit by 91%. The Middle East and Northern Africa is exceeding the limit by 100%. That means that every place in this region is exceeding the WHO’s guideline of 10 micrograms per cubic meter of air. South Asia exceeds the limit by 100% as well. Sub- Saharan Africa exceeds by 72%. According to the LGB 2015, there are very few places that don’t exceed the WHO’s guideline. Most of these places are remote islands. The near- constant wind allows for the pollution to be spread out

This has a lot to do with the fact that the government can enforce the decision to build factories or freeways where wanted with agreement from the people. These fumes also cause deadly diseases such as the ones listed above. The percent of the population that air pollution really affects is the population that consists of young children and young adults because they are more susceptible to the deadly diseases that come along with having dangerous levels of air pollution in the atmosphere but even though they are more susceptible to the deadly diseases that does not mean that there are not older people that have these deadly diseases. In the April of 2014 WHO announced that in 2012 about 3.7 million people died from their exposure to air pollution all of these people were under the age of 60. The reason as to why most of the shall I say victims of these deadly diseases are under 60 is because they are the people that are out and about breathing the outdoor polluted air. But since then that number has decreased because of the efforts and laws that the Environmental Protection Agency also known as the EPA has passed to make the air in the City of Chicago cleaner and healthier for the citizens of Chicago to breathe.…

Power of Pollution Everybody knows that there are many different types of pollution, but what people don’t know is how it’s affecting their environment, and themselves. Researchers tend to focus on the types of pollution: air, environmental, sound, light and many more, but not on who and how it affects them. Not only does pollution affect animals and the environment, but it affects humans too. While limitations are put on how much pollution companies are allowed to emit out into the atmosphere, many Americans, mainly minorities, are still being hospitalized and diagnosed with deformities caused by pollution. Pollution needs more regulation before the damage in the United States can not be reversed.…
