Every soldier through history has honed their skills of leadership over several months of continuous training through their service in the military. According to Powers R. (2016) “Department of Defense (5500.7) Standards of Conduct, provides guidance to military personnel on standards of conduct and ethics”. Which incorporates the belief of integrity and accountability within veterans for that reason employers look towards veterans for employment. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary (n.d.) integrity is the “quality of being honest and fair”; additionally, accountability is defined as someone “required to explain actions or decisions to someone else”. For this reason, a veteran can be valued as a moral person who embodies both integrity and accountability.
