Now on the other hand we have early day vampires who were scary and fed off virgin women and children (that being the most vile thing one can do), back when they were actually scary, and the original portrayal of them is much different. In Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula, the evil vampire tends to suck on the blood of virgin women, which is probably one of the sickest things a vampire can do. When Dracula eventually sucks the blood of our brave heroine and forces her to drink from him, Mina Harker refuses to go to her husband feeling unworthy of his love. “Unclean, unclean! It is understandable it is a storyline based off a classic as well, Romeo and Juliet for example. There are two people in love but because they are from opposite sides, they should not be together, but somehow they defy the odds and end up together anyways. The two people are the human and the vampire, the opposite sides are because they are two different species, and somehow they always end up together. This is that romantic love story every looks for in their life which is why when they see it in movies, on television, or read about it in books, they tell everyone they know about it because it is familiar and all that they want. Also, people love the fact that the male lead is usually the vampire because he gets those “animal” like instincts, he is possessive, controlling, demanding, and obviously he gets jealous of all they human guys because his girl could have a normal life with him. With those characteristics everyone, especially women tend to fall in love with vampires that are in love.
In conclusion, modern vampires just are not as good as the originals. The original vampires were described as ugly, and brooding; they would feed on the innocent in order to make the story more horrifying. They were not easy to kill and did not have anyone to help them along the way of running from people trying to kill them. Yet today in modern
