The article “The homeless brother i cannot save” was written by Ashley Womble. Ashley was raised in Texas but lives In New York. As she goes to work on her path would always see homeless people it was regular for New Yorker, but she never really had deeps thoughts about their stories. Until unfortunately summer of 2009 a tragedy happen his younger brother Jay left everything at home behind and went to lived on the streets of Texas. Ashley try so hard to find his brother she reached out to many help resources. It was useless for 20-year-old-guy with schizophrenia. A year and half the illness took over his little brother’s mind losing hope of him being someone successful in life. She knew something wasn't right and decide to do something her brother wouldn't do she took medication. After so long of weeks passing by in sept.11,2009 receiving a call from jay makes her wonder doubting it must not be something good happening. Finally jay decided to meet up after so long seeing him there is huge difference he lost so much weight his hair is long and greasy. Ashley understands traveling location to location made him a bit more comfortable he sees that he seemed to understand and admits whats going on. Which it wasn't usual he would denied back then this gave ashley a small progress of hope she decided to let him go instead of taking him to the hospital this time. Sometimes she support him with a small of porations like buying new shoes or tent or sleeping bag after awhile, He went to new Jersey,Florida, and Louisiana last time he heard from him was from a phone booth to aware he wouldn't communicate anymore. Most of the time i wonder what went wrong in their journey, Most stereotypes are they're on drugs or alcohol addiction. I see there is more problems out there there has to be something done to help this people most time i feel like the government doesn't care about lower class. I also agree with the author how it also affects the close ones to makes them worried and stressed about their own health and safety of sibling is a scary situation they go through. This shows me to cherish my family to lead them in the right path. I have heard of this sickness before my close cousin i believe he has suffer from this it made me understand more. I see things could be worse for him but luckily he's doing better now with the help of his family but sometimes there people out there who have nobody like jay except the effort of her
