Summary: In the article “The Hit Man’s Tale” Vincent Smothers grew up on Detroit’s east side with eight siblings. He was very close to his father Sonny. From a younger age Smothers learned how to do plumbing, electrical work, and painting. He was good at everything his mother said in the article. It was like he already knew what to do, from those comments his mother made and his grades throughout school, which meant he was a very intelligent young man. Vincent was an honor student in school; he was tremendous in Spanish and biology. Everything seemed to be going well for Smothers. One day an altercation occurred between Vincent’s brother Dion and a friend of the man’s house his brother had robbed. His neighbor, David Hudson, hosted a barbecue …show more content…
People love their life and people in the world should not feel the need to kill another human being because someone pays them to kill a person or whatever their reason might be. Smothers life was going well for him until the death of his sister and father. That pushed him to go down the wrong path instead of having a strong mind and finding a way to continue to push through life. Pretty much all the things that Smothers did in his life was deviant. Smothers had his wife hide several guns for him. That is completely out of the normal. Why risk putting your wife life in danger knowing that you both have two kids to raise. Smothers killed a lot of people so he should have kept his wife hands clean just in case he went down for all of the murders he committed. So His wife would be able to raise both of the girls. All murders don’t think that way though that is why the behavior that they show is not normal at all. In the world that we live in today all of Smothers wrong doings was awful and unacceptable in society’s eyes. The life he was living was not a regular ordinary life. Killing people for money, how do one live with himself. Knowing that you are taking someone from their loved ones and especially the ones that had kids. Smothers had two girls himself. I understand that people make mistakes in their lives but to make the same mistake over and over again knowing that he …show more content…
Smothers father was a great dad to him. His father also was abusive to his mother. Watching your dad beat your mom growing up as a kid will rub off on some weak minded kids. Smothers lost his sister and his dad within the same year. He was very close to his dad. Some people just cannot deal with the loss of their parents. They do not know how to move on and continue to live their life in the right manner. Growing up in poverty can mess a kid thought process up. It will make them want to get involved with different crimes especially if it consists of making a good amount of money and just becoming popular. In Smothers case he was all about money. The crimes he committed were for money and other personal reasons that he might have felt when his father and sister passed away. How a kid is raised plays a big role in what kind of adult they will turn out to
