The Bechdel family might appear as the ideal family but eyes can be deceitful. Alison’s parents were both english teachers and were well know by people in their community which affected them a lot because it make them feel like their every move are being monitor. The Bechdel family was afraid to make mistakes because they did not want to disappoint the people in their community.
A person must love themselves in order to give love to someone else. Alison’s father was a homosexual but was afraid to embrace who he really was because people in his community look up to him. Alison is a homosexual and came out to the world as such, she did not care about how they feel about it because she was expressing herself and wanted to be happy with who she was. Alison was braves about her decision to announce to the world that she was homosexual because people can be very judgemental. Alison’s father was jealous of her because she came out and he felt like it was too late for him to announce who he really was. She did something that her father couldn’t bring himself to doing for years, so her father felt less of a man whenever she was around
