The Holocaust is known widely around for its grotesque nature and dehumanizing effects it had on its victims, this type of Genocide has happened repeatedly throughout history even after this atrocity and for these reasons we have to make sure we never forget it. Hopefully through memory we can make sure no one forgets and that no one commits acts like this ever again. The Grotesque nature of the Holocaust is what makes it one of the most terrible acts of genocide in human history, the Germans used a lot of violent options when deciding on how to carry out Hitler's final solution. One of the most common ways that even Ellie witnessed and described in his book was the use of Gas Chambers. This Genocide had the Hutus (In this case they would be the Germans) discriminating against the Tutsis (They would be the Jews) the Hutus would play propaganda on a radio station talking about how terrible the Tutsis were and how they could not be trusted whatsoever, just like how the Germans described the Jews. The grotesque nature was the same as well with insane amount of casualties. Tutsis were chopped up with machetes and ran over by cars,it was brutal. Sadly just like the Holocaust it took a very long amount of time for rescue to come. At Least in the Holocaust people could claim we did not know due to warfare but in Rwanda's case people knew what was going on and yet they refused to help.Elie Wiesel talked about this type of senseless violence during his Nobel Peace prize acceptance speech in 1986 and people agreed with him and pretty much said they are completely against it yet in happened in Rwanda 8 years later and Darfur 17 years later. You’d think people would learn to help early in these situations but they never

But in all honesty, if you do not want to remember what shaped the world to what it is, then why teach history at all? I know that history may not be the most active class, but the students will learn about it one way or another. “Denying someone something makes them want it more”…

No matter what life experiences people have in their lives they always come out having a different perspective in life. Like all of the survivors of the Holocaust, they all came out of the concentration camps looking at everything around them like it was the first time that they were encountering it. Like Elie Wiesel when him and his group got freed from the concentration camp. One piece of text evidence states, “OUR FIRST ACT AS FREE MEN was to throw ourselves onto the provisions.
