The film, Gospel of John¸by Philip Saville sticks to the text the entire film. It is basically word for word from the Good News Bible version. With this being said, there is not much diverging from the text. There is not a place where they diverge from the text whatsoever in the film. They do, however, tell it in a very intriguing way. They make the movie view easy to follow since it is word for word from the text. Having the text be word for word makes it better for a person like me better understand the text more thoroughly because I can see the representation and how the stories unfold in the context of first century Jerusalem and surrounding areas.
