Reflective Essay On Gospel And Sin Nature

Improved Essays
We have studied many different topics, however the two topics that resonated with me were the “Gospel and the Sin Nature.” I was raised with Christian values and coming into this course, I felt I had a good grasp of what these topics meant, but I was mistaken. The topic I chose is about two men and the consequences they suffered as a result of their actions. “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous (Rom 5.18-19). In this assignment, I will discuss the theological definitions, biblical foundation, and practical application of both the Gospel and Sin Nature. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16.15-16).” The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. He is the Son of God. As such, God sent his perfect child, free of sin, to die on the cross for all of humanity. Jesus’ sacrifice provided the atonement for the sins of the world. Our relationship with God was destroyed when Adam sinned in the garden, but our sin was transferred onto Christ, allowing our relationship …show more content…
The only way to be free of sin is by believing in Jesus Christ. To fully understand the practical application, imagine a farmer working in the fields and stables all day. His body is covered in sweat and filth from head to toe. When the time comes for the farmer to go inside, before his wife want anything to do with the farmer, he is forced to clean the filth off. That is how God sees His greatest creation. Mankind is born into sin (filth), because of Adam. God wants to love his children, but he cannot until the filth is removed. The farmer cleansing himself is the representation of regeneration. Jesus represents the washing of the filth (regeneration), so God can love

Jesus Christ is the only son of God, and His mission was to deliver the Word of God and redeem our sins. He was born of the Virgin Mary and given to all mankind to redeem our sins that we may be granted entry into the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus was born two thousand years ago, and during His life He performed many miracles and fulfilled many prophecies. During His time on earth, He and His Apostles brought the Word of God to many people, and gave us the message that we should all be kind to each other and love one another as we love ourselves. At the age of thirty-three, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, one of his apostles.…

According to 1 Corinthians, sin is causing another believer to sin. It explains in more depth that sin is not glorifying God through one’s actions, something that causes one’s neighbor to stumble, or something that hinders the Gospel from being spread. All of one’s actions should glorify God. When a believer’s actions do glorify God, it gives others an example to follow…

This is markedly different from biblical sin, which would claim that “[a]ll of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away", and reflects a society where sin is taken less seriously and encountered more often (Bible, New International Version, Isaiah 64:6). This worldview, that sin will consume us, is rejected by these authors, who instead favor lenient portrayals of sin over absolute. Thus, the stories recognize that sin can indeed bring benefits to people, but consistently illustrate that these benefits will never outweigh the cost. I feel that sin is just one form of where a line is drawn between good, and evil, and that this form is outdated,…

As I was reading this article I was angry and felt as if i would not agree with anything said, however, once I regarded the time period and allowed myself to be open to the opinions of others, I began to see some similarities. They were few, but similarities nonetheless. I agree with Macarthur in the aspect of some psychologists disregarding the ability to be assisted by prayer, reading the Bible and meditation with God. I believe that those things are important and vital to finding peace and well as strength through mental and emotional difficulties. Practicing “Christian” Psychologists should never advise against them or promote activity that go against Biblical teaching.…

Romans chapter 3:22 has been translated many different ways. The translation the textbook Paul for Everyone: Romans 1-8 uses says, “God’s covenant justice comes into operation through the faithfulness of Jesus the Messiah, for the benefit of all who have faith. For there is no distinction:” yet, the New Internatonal Version it says, “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,” (NIV.) There is quite the difference between these two versions.…

Why is it that sin “appears” to win over righteousness? Per Geertz Thick Description, we conceptualize new ideas and concepts until they become a part of a group of thoughts that shapes our cognition about the world around us. He also states, “A few zealots persist in the old key-to-the-universe view of it; but less driven thinkers settle down after a while to the problems the idea has really generated” (Geertz, 1973). These ideas are how the development of a new plan starts and the possible end of that idea. This thought is why it appears that sin wins over righteousness to where it works and where it does not operate we only do not use it.…

Thank you for your post. I concur not with you that “one way in which you must continue to confront relativism in your ministry context is by preaching the gospel as authoritative truth through the Doctrine of God and the Doctrine of Scripture.” The question remains unclear for me. Thus, I would like to add something that remains essential regarding the subject matter. The gospel contains all the doctrines, implicit or explicit.…

This is considered to be the greatest act of redemption in the New Testament when God gave His one and only perfect son to die on a cross so that we might one day live with God for eternity. Jesus spent His life on earth revealing Himself as the Savior of the world to both the Jews and the Gentiles. Jesus performed many miracles; healing the sick and diseased, raising the dead to life, casting out of demons, and controlling nature. By coming from the line of David, Jesus showed that He had control to be the king God had chosen to lead Israel. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are able to be reconnected with God in heaven while on earth.…

Soteriology is the study of Salvation and all the aspects that make up Salvation. Sin first originated in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3:6. Here Adam and Eve sinned and were thrown out of the garden and separated from God. However, God made a way for them to receive forgiveness and atonement through the sacrificing of animals, Leviticus 23:12. These sacrifices were pointing the way to when Jesus would come and die on the cross and be the ultimate sacrifice to take the sin of the world away.…

Simply put, salvation is God applying the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to and individual. Jesus is both our propitiation for our sins and as our righteousness. Paul in first letter to the Corinthians, defends his apostleship and stresses adhesion to the Gospel. He summaries the Gospel in the fifteenth chapter: “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel… that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.…

Hope of the Godly Person The comfort in these things, which will be explained in later chapters is this: If you genuinely desire to do the will of God and you are ashamed of sin (even if at times you lapse into it) then you are to be saved. If you were raised in tyranny and taught evil but wish to learn the love of God for no other reason than he commanded it and believe his warnings, then you are a child of God and can be saved by God’s Son. The difference is as clear as the difference between Jacob and Esau. Just as certain animals cannot understand the nature of man, those born of the devil cannot understand love or mercy or repentance.…

The scarifies, the stories, and everything else in the Old Testament is a picture of the coming of Christ. In Hosea, the story of the prostitute is a picture of God pursuing us in our sinfulness. The picture of David killing Goliath is a picture of Jesus coming and destroying all the enemies of God. In the story of Abraham and Isaac, he refers to how God will provide a lamb to be a sacrifice, pointing to Jesus being the perfect lamb. The sacrifice of animals shows how blood must be shed in order to cover sin.…
