Sometimes in life, goals can change. What one inspires to be as a child, can turn in a different direction for many. I, however, took a different path in life. I am an aspiring screenwriter with a background of playwriting. I caught the writing bug about twelve years ago, after a slip and fall accident. To me, writing is more than just putting some words onto a computer screen. You have to have that passion and be driven to go the next level, and that’s what I possess. Writing has become a part of who I am, and I’ve been motivated to embrace it. I look forward to this career, as I am able to express myself like no other…through my fictional characters. My creative mind allows my expressions and ideas to flow onto the computer screen with such ease. It has been my mission to continuously to write throughout the years, hoping that one day, one of my scripts would make it onto the big screen.

It is a valid argument because both premises, support the conclusion. In both premises I mention that if I work hard at my goals, then I will be successful in the movie industry. The Hollywood producer requesting my script is evidence of the hard work that I have put in so far toward my goals, and the success in the movie industry is a certainty of what will soon follow, making this a sound argument. The movie industry is a hard place to break into, not to mention trying to get a producer to look at your work. Unless a producer can envision a marketplace for your script, he or she will not request it. The producer who requested my script is even talking about an option deal. While this may not be a final sale of my script, it is definitely a step in the right direction. There are thousands of scripts out there that don’t even make it to the hands of the Hollywood producers. Therefore, the hypothetical syllogism presented in this essay are both valid and
