Ferguson case is another example of how colored people were treated unfair. Homer Plessy was legally a black man but he looked like a white man. He passed as a white man to get on a white train. Plessy was asked to show papers and was kicked out of the train for being black. He went to the Supreme Court and argued that he was a white man. Plessy lost the case and the Supreme Court issued the “separate but equal” statement to be legal and constitutional. As long as there was an area for African Americans, then they were considered equal. The Plessy Vs. Ferguson case was unfair because it set a base for African Americans to be treated differently and separately in the community.
