We live in a high tech world, where technology is involved in our daily lives. It has changed the world, our personal lives have become less private with the internet. Technology is a downfall to young children. Excessive use of video games and usage of internet leads to isolation and anxiety. From a personal experience, my family are so addicted to their phones and other devices that we can’t sit for ten minutes without our phones. My little sister who is 5 years old, adopted our habit she uses her iPad the minutes she comes from school. The three negative sides of technology are it changes the way children feel and think, can put privacy and safety at risk, and less physical activity leads to obesity. Technology changes the way children think. In a recent post published by Pamaela DeLoatch, title “The Four Negative Sides of Technology” in which the author explains the negative sides of internet usage for young children. The time spent using technology doesn’t give children new ways of learning or doing things. Improper use of technology can expose a child to numerous risks. Children who use the internet the wrong way can put them in danger. According to DeLoatch, a percentage of 82% of sex crimes against children are caused by children who put personal information online and most sex offenders use social networking sites to find this information about the victim. Many teens say they have been bullied by either text messaging or on the internet (2). In this way, parents should put limits on internet usage on their children because it's dangerous. Another example is sexing, where a lot of young teen take part in. The internet is a dangerous place, especially for teens, parents should pay attention to what their kids are posting
