Abraham Maslow Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a 5 tier theory which is used as a motivational theory of human needs. Maslow believes that individuals are usually encouraged achieve some specific needs and he believes that some needs take priority over others. Maslow placed physical survival at the first tier of the pyramid as he believes that this is the most basic need which motivates ones behaviour, Maslow believes that once the first tier is successfully completed, it’s what encourages us to complete the next tier of the hierarchy. Maslow believes that every single individual has the opportunity and can complete each tier of the Hierarchy to move up to the tier after, he believes that every individual has the desire to move up the Hierarchy to meet a level of self actualisation. Maslow believes that after the safety needs are fulfilled, the service user has to feel a sense of love and belonging from the care worker, if they care worker doesn’t show any sense of love and doesn’t make the service user feel like they belong, which will make them content. The care worker needs to ensure that all tiers are met to ensure that the service user’s behaviour is
