Snow makes as feeling cold a physically inactive that refers to deadbody. As the snow covers the plants it inhibits their capacity to get energy and nourishment from the sun .The snow here represents the death. Humans usually blame snow for their loss of freedom and movement. The death comes to all living irrespective of nature and colour. The snow falling upon on “living and the dead” ironically act as a symbol for the death that comes indiscriminately. “It lay thickly drifted on the crooked crosses and headstones, on the spears of little yard, on the barren thorns” reminded Gabriel that the death happens for every human beings.
