Take instrumental music as an example. You can distinctively hear the difference between a happy and sad tune. We can feel the happiness or sadness just from the piece itself. Take some of the pieces that many of us know about, such as Für Elise, which translates to For Elise. The song is written in a minor key, which means that it sounds agitated, sad, dark, and just not happy, however, the song is really a love song. From the title and the song, we can take that it is very soft and shows a lot of emotions, A song that was meant for someone, that someone we may not know who, but from what we can take from the song, that someone clearly means something to Beethoven, the composer of the tune.
