    1. The number of muscle fibers that are innervated by a motor neuron is dependent on what muscle it is. Fine motor movements, such as typing, would need only a few muscle fibers. This means that the thumb has only a few fibers, but the thigh, back, and biceps have many. These need a lot more force to be exerted, which is why they need more muscle fibers.…

Due to the fact that one of the two ways to increase the strength of a muscle contraction is to increase the frequency at which the motor units fire in order to create a summed effect, it is expected that the shorter the time interval between consecutive stimuli, the greater the force of contraction. If there is a greater amount of time between the stimuli, the muscle would be able to relax before the next stimulus is fired. However, as that time decreases, the individual twitches begin to overlap and produce a stronger contraction. If a skeletal muscle is stimulated before it is able to fully relax, the sarcoplasmic reticulum will continue to release more calcium ions, more cross-bridges will form, and the muscle will contract again under…

Skeletal muscles are made of three different muscle fiber types. All muscle fibers are having varying amounts of mitochondria in them. Mitochondria helps the muscle be able to manufacture ATP for contraction. To differentiate between the three muscles is based on their make up. Slow oxidative (SO) or type one muscle fibers are composed with the most mitochondria to help them be fatigue resistant.…

Purpose: Recent research indicates that the skeletal muscles of the human body do not function as independent actuators. Instead, they seem to be linked by connective tissue forming myofascial chains. While the existence of such meridians has been demonstrated for the ventral and the dorsal side of the body, no data are available for morphological fusion of lateral muscles. This study aimed to provide evidence for the inferior part of the lateral myofascial chain.…

The heart is located in the pericardial cavity, surrounded by the pericardium, also called the pericardial sac. I am not all that familiar, or comfortable with the cardiac system. Muscles, and neurology are my strong areas. From what I am understanding is the pathways of blood through the heart is that first all blood enters the heart through the superior and inferior vena cava, which are dubbed SVC and IVC. The Inferior vena cava has a primary job of receiving blood from the lower extremities and the abdominopelvic cavities and it also has to empty the right atrium.…

When bones and muscles connect a joint is formed. At this point both are joined together by the help of tendons, which is a connective tissue. When we have to move a joint the muscle receives an electrical signal from brain. It causes movement to occur, because this causes the contraction in it. This contraction pulls on the corresponding bone at its insertion point.…

Your skeletal and muscular systems interact with each other to create movement. The skeletal system is covered with muscles that enable us to move. Your muscles are attached to bone by tendons, and the contraction and relaxing of these muscles causes the bone to move resulting in body movement. Bones come together at joints which allow for movement of limbs and movement of the entire body. Muscles pass over joints to create this movement.…

Dr. Hambrecht's study is about how excerise can help your heart more than a heart medical procedure. The study's says that if people get at least 30 minutes of moderate excerise like brisk walking for five days a week that it will help your heart more than a Angioplasties. This is because Angioplasties only help with opening arteries, while excerise can give you that and a lot of other health benifits. However, Angioplasties is the easiest opinion, as it only takes one day to do, while excerise takes a couple of week or even months to see the full benefits. However, I still thinkthat Dr. Hambrecht's sutdy will affect one's outlook on excerise.…

Strenuous Exercise Exercises that cause the heart to beat very rapidly, such as running or playing sports, can increase a senior's risk of developing blood clots. A study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society found that intense exercise poses risk for developing venous thrombosis, a condition that causes dangerous blood clots to form. If your loved one has heart problems, walking, swimming or a light aerobics class can provide a good workout without overworking the heart. Isometric Exercises Exercises that cause muscles to tense but not contract can cause blood pressure levels to dangerously rise. Isometric exercises include weight lifting, push-ups, sit-ups and other resistance exercises.…

Jackson Newman March 4, 2016 Advanced English-6th Hour Mrs. Meadows Muscular System The muscular system is one of the most vital system in the body because without it the human body would not be able to move or function properly. The main function of the human body is movement. When the regular body temperature drops, the body starts to shiver to maintain homeostasis. Muscle groups begin to shake, trying to create heat/warmth by expending energy. This also means that a large amount of the energy that a person would use daily is used by the muscles/muscular system.…
