ALFRED TENNYSON, "THE CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE" is a home that focuses on a single moment in time that is either the most aerobic or disastrous episode in British military history. The event that the poem focuses on is the Crimean (1853 to 1856). Poetry has a unique ability. It captures more than just fact it allows us to feel emotions long after the cannons have silenced the burning his ashes. 600 men bravely charged cannons to the right cannons to the left. Tennyson's poem is a tribute to the men who overcame their fear and claim glory for themselves. We do not praise war when we honor the courageous. A war has no soul it cannot lose anything of value. But individuals can rise up in impossible circumstances and earn glory and honor. A war in any age is a daunting near impossible task. British forces in Crimean were caught between two worlds.
