The Elephant, the Frogs, and the Toad
The big elephant named Blackmound came everyday to the pond to get a drink of water but each time he went, he crushed many frogs. One day, the frogs went to the wise today, Blear Eye and asked him what to do about the horrid situation. Bleary Eye chose one frog name Lightfoot to approach Blackmound next time he arrived and have the boldness to tell him that he was crushing the frogs. Lghtfoot obeyed and approach Blackmound explaining the situation. Lightfoot told Blackmound that the wise Blear Eye had told him to address the issue but Blackmound wanted proof. When Blackmound heard the voice of Blear Eye coming from the tree stump, he was frightened for he knew that if he didn't listen to Blear Eye, he would disappear like Blear Eye made his shadow do. The baboon rushes home but the tortoise is not as fast and it takes him a bit longer. When the tortoise gets there, the baboon makes the tortoise climb the tree to get his food and baboon and the tortoise both know that would take the tortoise too long and the baboon was just playing a mean game on the tortoise. The next day, the tortoise decides he needs to get baboon back so he invites him to dinner. The baboon excepts but little does he know it's for revenge. In this season, it is the dry season which means there are fires and soot and ashes all over the ground. When the baboon comes to eat, the tortoise tells him he is not allowed to eat until his hands are clean so the baboon rushes to the river to clean them off. When he comes back, he has to step over the ashy ground and it makes his hands dirty again.
