World War II began when Adolf Hitler and the German forces invaded Poland in 1939. Since France and Britain were allies of Poland, they took action by declaring war on Germany and forming the Allied Forces. Meanwhile, Germany formed an alliance with the Axis powers that included Italy and Japan. As the war continued, the Axis powers invaded more countries and others joined the Allied Forces including the United States after the bombing of pearl Harbor. As a result of these fighting, the families were torn apart which led their infants in destitute. These left children faced with many hardships and difficulties during World War Two.
