We live in a society that praises individuality and freedom and therefore to most people it is a scary thought that an outside source, such as the media has such a large effect on our lives ( 2011). The first paragraph will talk about violence the emotional responsiveness to real life violence and increased aggressive behavior. Television is the cause of most the violence in the world. The next paragraph is the effects on a healthy child 's brain development the way a child 's brain develop and how it effects childhood obesity. The television affects so many children in ways of violence, effects of the child 's development and sexual content in today 's society. Violence in watching television is an everyday thing that happens. You see most of this violence on your television screen and even on the internet. There have been a lot of studies that show what happens to children when they watch television such as repeating the violence they see on TV, or even use this violence to solve problems that can be fixed in a different way. These studies also say that watching violence on TV it causes aggressiveness, increased heart rate, fear, discomfort, perspiration, and disgust. With sexual content can harm a child in many different ways, and they may never come out of the harmful behavior. The ways it can affect a child is by stress which can cause a child to have disturbed sleep, difficulty paying attention and concentrating, anger and irritability, withdrawal, repeated and intrusive thoughts, and extreme distress. The major things are causing psychiatric conditions such as posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety. Statistics shows that from watching TV so much as a child 70% of the shows has sexual content. With children watching things like this can also harm themselves or even other children such as doing what they seen on TV to another child thinking it is okay because they watched it and didn 't get in trouble for that. Children see things on TV and believe it is ok to do what is being told on there because that is what they are used to seeing.
