In many ways the children are affected: cognitively, behaviorally, physically, and emotionally. One way that it effects them is that when the kids see their parents fight they will most of the time learn from them which, is a form of modeling. Some psychological impacts include, higher levels of anxiety, or depression (Edleson, 1999; Stiles, 2002). Anxiety can turn into impacting your daily life making it harder to function normally. They need to be treated for this right away. Allowing anxiety to grab hold of their lives could lead to more serious issues. These are never wanting to leave the house because they are afraid someone will find out about what is going on inside, or they are afraid to be around people that are older because they believe that every person older abuse each other.
