Haiti is a country that has been in the news continously for the natural disasters that have continously happen to them. From 1994 to only a few years ago, Haiti has been hit by several water realted natural disasters that have killed thousands of the Haiti people. Leonard Pits expresses in his article of the poor nations struggle. The article focuses on the most recent hit that explains the capital of the small, poor nation was first hit with a 7.0 magnitude monster of an earthquake. Not long after that event struck the people of Haiti, they were hit hard again. "But what if it's always your turn? Surely some homeless, dust-streaked Haitian can be forgiven for thinking it is always Haiti's turn this morning, two days after the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere saw its capital city smashed by the strongest earthquake it has ever known, a 7.0-magnitude monster." Haiti has been constatly hit by natural disasters, and if that doesnt prove they are being kicked, when they are already down, then the poverty Haiti suffers from pushes the point even further. When a hurricane or a tornado hit the homes of people, often times the whole building is completly destroyed and not usable. Many of the products people own are destroyed, and food, clothing, and water, are hard to find. Everytime humans get knocked down by natural disasters, we always get back up, and rebuild out communities back to livable standards. When Haiti got hit had, many people all over the world was aware of the incident, and felt horribly bad for the poor naion. While others feel bad for people who get hit hard with natural disasters, their is not much people can do but pray, donate resources, or try and travel to help with any rebuilding that can be done. Nothing can be done before to prevent most natural disaster, and often they destory whole communities. " We are hamstrung by our own limitations, so we can only do what we always do, only send prayers and help. We Dig out. Weep and mourn. Memorialize the dead. Rebuild. Go on. And show the world once again a stubborn insistence on living, despite all the cruelties of the earth." When natural disaster hit, their is simply nothing that humans have the ability to do. The world is cruel, it kicks humans down, and does nothing to help build what it
