Dikembe Mutombo Mission Statement

With a journey and a dream Dikembe Mutombo has started the development of better lives for so many people in Africa. With his 15 years of a basketball career; Mutombo has sought out a fulfillment with his generous behaviors. Dikembe Mutombo believes in passing the torch to help lives globally with a better education, better health and the ability to have a better quality of life. Mutombo’s foundations have benefited lives in his native land and continues create these dreams for families to come. Dikembe Mutombo is a retired basketball star who started a foundation with the millions that was received throughout his career. This foundation is called the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation (DMF). The foundation was built in 1997 and with this foundation he can give people in Africa better sources to have in the Congo. With many projects, one that has become very successful is the building of a hospital. This brought many opportunities when doors were opened at this hospital. The endless possibilities that showed how much Mutombo valued his community and the people in it. These values did not happen overnight. Mutombo saw a vision and a goal as a child. The vision and purpose he fulfilled showed beliefs that no matter your background or what you are faced with you can still accomplish change. He has given back so much to his community that he continues to flourish with his rich values. With his many other projects, Mutombo generosity has not been just recognized locally in his home town. Mr. Mutombo is also globally recognized for the remarkable impact he has on others for the things he has done. From being considered the Most Caring Athlete in 2009 by USA Weekend Magazine and from other many accolades that continues on through his journey of building better lives for
