In the romantic play of Romeo and Juliet there are multiple views of love shown through different characters. The parents of Juliet, Capulet and Lady Capulet both have very differing views on how love should be. Capulet’s view was more reserved and modest. “And too soon marred are those so early made. The earth hath swallowed all my hopes but she…My will to her consent is but a part” (I, ii, 15-20). Maybe it was because he was a father and more protective but he felt as if Juliet should decide who she is married to for the rest of her life. Her choice and decision of her husband was very important to him. A handsome bachelor by the name of Paris goes to Capulet for his consent to marry Juliet.
