The diary of Anne Frank is at the time of the 1940s and tells a story of a young bright girl and her family. Mr.Otto Frank returned home only to later realize his family was gone and he was the only survivor. Soon after he was given the diary he gave to Anne from Miep Gies a family friend who help the Franks and the van Daans in the annex. Once he got the diary he was encouraged to publish his child's words under the name of “The Diary of a Young Girl”. Behind a bookshelf was a door which led to the annex which two families inhabited it the Van Daans Mr, Mrs, and Peter and the Franks Mr, Mrs, Anne,and Margot soon after Mr.Dussel joined them in hiding. Everyone in the annex gave something up when they left the real world to go to the annex for two years. Both Mr and Mrs.Van Daan gave up their lavish lifestyle. Mr.Van Daan would eat as much as he wanted, but in the Annex, he was only allowed to eat limited to only small servings, Mrs.Van Daan loved how she could wear fancy clothes but now she could only bring what she can wear on her body. Anne had to leave her cat because of the noise it would make but peter was allowed to have his cat Mouschi but he soon had to throw him out. Miep gave up the most because she left, she life behind to help the people in the annex and kept them fed and informed them about the outside world.
In conclusion, the diary of Anne Frank tells a wonderful story and courageous acts of Miep Gies. If I were in Meip's position, I would have cracked after the ninth month because I would have to deal with the mentality that if I do one wrong thing it can affect two different families. This shows that Miep was very important because the families survival was in her hands, But after two years they were captured on August 4,1944. During those two years , he didn’t complain about how hard it was getting things like
